Services

Fairfax provides water, sewer, and garbage services to all residents within the incorporated City limits. The services are billed on a monthly basis. You can set up your services at the Fairfax City Hall.

Amenities

The City of Fairfax has 3 municipal parks to offer our community. Each park provides a space to gather and create memories!


Memorial Park offers a municipal pool, baseball stadium, playground, tennis and pickle ball courts and covered picnic shelters for family events.


Depot Park offers a quiet location to meet, eat or read a book. The Depot Museum is open Sundays, 2 - 4pm through the summer.


The Lions Park is a great place to play softball, playvolleyball, enjoy the playground or participate in one of the many event sponsored by the Lions and the City of Farifax.


The City of Fairfax has quiet streets and the Fairview Trail for our community to enjoy. Whether walking or biking, the neighborhood streets include historic homes and businesses and The Fairview Trail provides the chance to jog, bike or skate up to six miles. It extends from the Depot Park to Fort Ridgely State Park near the scenic Minnesota River Valley. You will see rich farm land, a creek meandering through the wooded hills and the scenic river valley with a wide variety of wildlife, including the majectic bald eagle.

Public Schools: Fairfax is served by GFW Public School District, known for its commitment to student success and innovative teaching methods. With a new state-of-the-art facilities scheduled to open in 2025, dedicated educators, and a comprehensive curriculum, students receive a well-rounded education that prepares them for future success. From early childhood education programs to high school courses that challenge and inspire, GFW Public Schools are a cornerstone of our community.


Private Schools: In addition to public education options, Fairfax is also home to Prairie Lutheran School is operated by the congregations of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod in the Fairfax – Gibbon – Winthrop area to assist parents in providing a Christ-centered education for their children to strengthen them in Christian faith and life.

Fire & Ambulance Services: Ensuring the safety and well-being of residents is a top priority in Fairfax, thanks to the dedicated efforts of our Fire & Ambulance Services. Staffed by trained volunteers, these essential services provide emergency response, medical assistance, and fire protection to the community 24/7, ensuring that help is always just a phone call away.


Dayz of Thunder Community Board: Fairfax's Dayz of Thunder Committee is the driving force behind one of the most anticipated events of the year – our annual summer celebration! Comprising dedicated volunteers from the community, this committee works tirelessly to plan and organize a fun-filled weekend of festivities for residents and visitors alike.


Veteran's Organizations: Fairfax is proud to have a strong presence of veterans' organizations like the American Legion and VFW, which play a vital role in our community. Through their efforts and commitment to veterans' causes and community needs, these organizations ensure that the sacrifices of our military heroes are never forgotten.
